Community Outreach

1999-Block Kids Building Program is a program founded by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) to help introduce first graders through sixth graders to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of and to promote an interest in future careers in one of the many facets of the construction industry. Block kids is a national building competition developed because the construction industry needs to attract, educate, and train 200,000 newcomers annually. Local winners of the competition advance to regional competition, and one semi-finalist from each region is entered in the national program competition.
